All Midwest Choir: Thanksgiving Day Parade 2007
Have your students join the All Midwest Choir for the Thanksgiving Day Parade in the Chicago Thanksgiving Day Parade!
The "All MidWest Choir" is a 200 to 500 voice choir made of high school choir ensembles from a five (5) state area (Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin, Iowa). Membership in the unit will consist of choirs (mixed, concert, show, etc). School groups will be selected on a first come first registered basis.
This parade kicks off the holiday season and will be hosted on Thursday, November 22, 2007. The parade is televised on regional stations with feeds to national networks.
The “All Midwest Choir” will be a televised featured unit. Membership in the unit will consist of choirs (mixed, concert, show, etc). School groups will be selected on a first come, first registered basis. This is based on the recommendation of the high school music director and primary administrator from the school. Members of the choir must be current high school students (grades 9 to 12) and have not graduated prior to the event date. This event is limited and mandated to be of the highest standards for the student groups.
Professional instruction and choreography will be provided to the groups during the rehearsals. Sectional instruction will be selected from the high school directors seeking to be on the staff for this event. The cost for the event participation will be based on the activities involved and borne by the membership (see itinerary). Our producer and event coordinator has created special units for parades throughout the country.
