All Midwest Choir: Thanksgiving Day Parade

The "Midwest All-Stars" is made-up of high school students who are in choir or color guard from a five (5) state area (Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Wisconsin & Iowa). This group has a potential of growing to a 200 to 300 voice choir/color guard will be a featured unit in the McDonaldʼs® Thanksgiving Parade. This parade kicks off the holiday season and will be hosted on Thursday, November 24, 2011. The parade is televised on regional stations with feeds to national networks. The "Midwest All-Stars" will be a televised featured unit.

Membership in the unit will consist of choirs (mixed, concert, show, etc.) and color guard units. School groups will be selected on a first come, first registered basis. This is based on the recommendation of the high school music director and primary administrator from the school. Members on the choir/color guard must be current high school students (grades 9 to 12). This event is limited and mandated to be of the highest standards for the student groups.

Professional instruction and choreography will be provided to the groups during the rehearsals. Sectional instruction will be selected from the high school directors seeking to be on the staff for this event. The cost for the event participation will be based on the activities involved (see itinerary). Our producer and event coordinator have created special units for parades throughout the country. Please call Jennifer McGhie, Event Coordinator at 815-756-1263 with any questions or interest. Entire school choirs/color guards are welcomed.
